“Taíba is a fishing village on the coast of Ceará, a good 70 kilometres from Fortaleza and near Cumbuco. The spot blends flat water and waves: at the beach, waves break over several sandbars, about 500 metres inland lies the Lagoa Taíba, a hip-deep freshwater lagoon for practising, and on the eastern side of the beach a point break runs with waves reaching 2 to 3 metres depending on the swell.
