“The Großer Brombachsee is a large reservoir in the Franconian Lake District between Nuremberg and Ingolstadt, surrounded by Spalt, Pleinfeld and Gunzenhausen, around 10 km long and 2–3 km wide. Its steady wind makes it a popular area for windsurfers and wingfoilers. When does the Brombachsee work best? Wind along the lake's length – east to west – has the clear advantage, running in freely across the whole surface; in summer high-pressure systems east of Germany often deliver stable easterly win”
