“The north coast of Kos at Marmari is among the most consistent Meltemi beaches in the Dodecanese. A long, gently shelving sandy beach with side-onshore wind plus an offshore sandbank create a protected zone of standing-depth water where beginners can take their first runs without large rocks, reefs or current. The Meltemi arrives here as a thermally enhanced north wind, usually building around midday and dropping off at sunset. Across the main season from May to September it often sits at 4 to 6”
