“Isla Blanca lies north of Cancún on a narrow spit of the Yucatán peninsula, about 25 minutes from downtown. Between the Caribbean and the Laguna Chacmuchuk runs a sheltered flat-water channel: waist-deep, sandy water for kilometres, mirror-smooth or lightly choppy depending on wind direction.
