Best wind
Southwest Garbi thermal is side-on to the lagoon and the preferred published direction. Northwest Mestral is strong, gusty and offshore from the lagoon side: https://kitesurftheworld.com/kitespots/spain/trabucador/
Season
April-July is the locally published southwest thermal window. Autumn/winter northwest Mestral can be strong, gusty and offshore and is not presented as a preferred foil season: https://kitesurftheworld.com/kitespots/spain/trabucador/
Water
Narrow sand bar with open Mediterranean water on one side and calm, shallow Alfacs Bay water on the other. The near-bar bay shallows are the reason non-foil beginners use the area: https://www.turismodeltadelebro.com/en/el-trabucador-beach/
Experience
The inner Alfacs Bay side is used for beginner kitesurf/SUP because it is calm and very shallow, but that same depth can be unsafe for a foil mast. Foil beginners should use the exact local school and confirm a deep-enough corridor: https://www.turismodeltadelebro.com/en/el-trabucador-beach/ https://www.deltaspirit.es/en/frequently-asked-questions/
Hazards
Very shallow Alfacs Bay water can be below safe foil-mast depth. Northwest Mestral is strong/gusty and offshore, creating drift and self-rescue risk. This is a protected sand-bar environment with regulated vehicle movement; stay on allowed tracks/parking areas and protect vegetation. Open-sea and lagoon conditions are not interchangeable: https://parcsnaturals.gencat.cat/es/xarxa-de-parcs/delta-ebre/gaudeix-del-parc/com-accedir-hi/index.html https://www.turismodeltadelebro.com/en/el-trabucador-beach/ https://kitesurftheworld.com/kitespots/spain/trabucador/
Parking & access
Motor access and parking are regulated: current park guidance limits parking to 06:00-23:00 and prohibits circulation/parking overnight. The tourism page says only about 2 km of the sand bar is driveable, with the rest on foot/bicycle; stay on the marked vehicle track because soft sand can trap cars: https://parcsnaturals.gencat.cat/es/xarxa-de-parcs/delta-ebre/gaudeix-del-parc/com-accedir-hi/index.html https://www.turismodeltadelebro.com/en/el-trabucador-beach/
