Hazards
Shallow/nearshore and Gulf traffic conditions require local verification. Do not infer a proven Hua Hin–Rayong crossing: a forum local says attempts had not succeeded, and no endpoints, bailouts or rescue plan are published.
“The seaside resort of Hua Hin on the Gulf of Thailand is the country's kitesurf classic. In the main season – driven by the northeast monsoon and, from February on, increasingly by thermal sea breezes – the wind reliably brings 12–20, on good days up to 25 knots in the afternoon over the long, gently shelving sandy beach. The beach runs more than 5 km, offering plenty of room and ideal conditions for relaxed downwinders. The water is choppy with small waves and deeper further out; at 28–30 °C no Requested-field batch 12 verified 2026-08-01: exact, nearby, route, area, operator and community-candidate relationships remain explicit; generic coordinate-only Surfline maps were removed where no meaningful report exists; unresolved items remain Unknown. Progression Project forum discussion considers winter downwind potential south of Hua Hin toward Prak Nam, but a local reply reports that attempts to cross the bay from Hua Hin toward Rayong had not succeeded. This is candidate context, not evidence of a completed crossing.”
