Flathead Lake is large, cold and can build steep wind waves quickly. Wayfarers has a working boat launch and gravel/rock shore; avoid vessels, verify depth/submerged rocks and water temperature, and do not use a south wind without a downwind shore/recovery.

Exact official state park has a boat launch. Montana residents who pay the state-parks vehicle-registration fee have no daily entrance fee; nonresident/current launch fees must be checked on the park page: https://fwp.mt.gov/stateparks/wayfarers
