Rocky launch; booties are recommended. The exact current guide describes a very busy beginner foil/kite/windsurf area with flatter water and weaker wind than other Gorge sites; avoid schools and other users, and account for river current outside the protected area.

Official 2026 Port rules: Event Site pay parking 8 a.m.-6 p.m., $2.75/hour up to $15/day; lot open 7 a.m.-10 p.m.; designated spaces only and no overnight parking. Annual passes $225 regular / $350 overlength: https://www.portofhoodriver.com/waterfront-parking
