“Pounta Beach sits on the southwest coast of Paros, directly opposite Antiparos and next to the small port where the car ferry crosses the narrow channel. That channel between the two islands acts like a nozzle: the Meltemi, which blows from the north almost daily from mid-May to mid-September, is funnelled and accelerated here. This makes Pounta one of the most wind-reliable spots in Greece. The wind blows side to side-onshore, typically 18–24 knots and stronger in high summer – often 25+ knots ”
