Pamlico Sound is shallow enough that mast depth changes with wind-driven water levels; check submerged debris, grass and sandbars. Canadian Hole is busy with windsurfers/kiters and near overhead-line restrictions; avoid learners, road/rigging areas and offshore drift into open Sound.
