“Gold sits on the south side of Fehmarn and is essentially a large standing-water area: the water rarely gets deeper than about 1.5 metres, the bottom is sandy and the entry is shallow. That makes the spot especially beginner- and family-friendly and popular with wingfoilers too. Gold works best in westerly wind – SW blows sideshore from the left, and in NW you can ride toward Lemkenhafen. From around 20 knots a small wave up to roughly one metre builds, ideal for safely practising first jumps. O”
