“Neßmersiel is the ferry harbour to the car-free island of Baltrum, and right next door lies Dornumersiel with an official kite zone in the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park. That is the real hotspot of this stretch: a designated area on the Watt with reliable wind and a surf and kite school (Vertigo) on site. You rig and launch on the dyke or beach and ride out on the flooded flats. The main wind is W, NW and SW; you kite in the tidal window from about three hours before to three hours after”
