“Tarnewitzer Huk is a spit of land near Boltenhagen where West Mecklenburg's large kite area starts, running on towards Wismar and the island of Poel. The appeal is two sides on one peninsula. The outer side, facing the open Baltic, builds short wave and chop in onshore wind; the inner side, in the lagoon, holds flat, sheltered water – a genuine local tip on the Mecklenburg coast. This is tide-free Baltic: in W, SW and S you find the right water depending on which side you choose, from flat water”
