“The Graswarder is the designated kite spot of Heiligenhafen (kiting is banned at Steinwarder). The beach shelves very gently and offers around 80 to 100 metres of standing area in the Gillhus section on the eastern part – sandy, sheltered and ideal for first jumps. Offshore sandbanks between Fehmarn and Heiligenhafen keep larger waves out, so the water usually stays flat. In east wind it is properly smooth, north wind blows fully onshore but with hardly any shore break, and NW is considered opti”
