“On the Mönchgut peninsula in the southeast of Rügen, the spot lies between Thiessow and Klein Zicker on the Greifswalder Bodden – two sides in one venue. The open Baltic with chop and swell on the outside, the shallow Bodden as a sheltered standing area on the inside. A roughly 50-metre-wide flat-water strip runs parallel to the shore and helps you gain confidence fast; in southwest, outside waves can reach around two metres. Best directions are W to SW plus NW and N. Mönchgut is one of the wind”
